WEIGH-IN-MOTION VEHILCE MONITORING
Without road and rail traffic, the global economy would grind to a halt. Measurement solutions from Kistler for transportation and traffic engineering such as our Weigh In Motion (WIM) systems keep vehicles moving safely on roads and railways across the globe; they protect costly infrastructure and help to reduce traffic-related injuries and deaths.
IN-MOTION 3D VEHICLE MEASUREMENT
The HawkScan solution measures and classifies vehicles during normal traffic flow. Eye-safe LiDAR sensors scan objects 75 times a second, enabling fully-automated length, width, and height measurement with the vehicle speed and movement direction. The measurement data is recorded to generate a 3D model for each vehicle, visualising excessive heights, widths, and lengths. Also, the solution enables the counting of axles, axle spacing, and vehicle type.
DYNAMIC TILT, VIBRATION & DISPLACEMENT
If every second counts for the safety of people and objects, we use our in-house developed high-frequency tilt sensors. These measure with a frequency of 100Hz and immediately give an alarm in the event of deformation. We use this type of sensor for invasive construction work, collision detection of (rail) bridges and monitoring safety at locks, tunnels and dikes.
